Elizabeth Martin
There was a mother named Elizabeth Martin. She had seven sons in the army and she had encouraged them to fight for their country. After finding out about all those sons, a British officer said she had enough, but she replied that she wished she had fifty there.
On a separate occasion, another British officer told her heartlessly that he saw her son's brains blown out. She replied to him, "He could not have died in a nobler cause."
